What the deal with the BigDeal.com?

Well i just recently was referred to this site cause my friend was surfing around and gave it a try and won something . (im guessing is wasn't an ipod) and he told me its safe and real and im not wiling to just use my credit card for no reason. i decided to read around and research and it is safe and it looks legit . but the larger priced items look like bots (or mive amounts of people swooping in ) and what i read is that at-least 65% of people don't win or pay close to the actual price .
