Why were Republicans in Congress all for giving "Wall Street" $700 billion, with no strings, but not auto Co.?

Republicans in Congress voted to hand over a $700 billion dollar "Bailout" of "Wall Street" and foreign banks with no oversight controls, but will not vote to help the American auto industry to the tune of a mere $16 billion with all kinds of guaranteed oversight, rules and must be made changes to save American workers and their jobs in the industry? Wall Street and the banking industry got the money, then tightened up credit lending after recouping their losses, through nothing more than their own stupidity and greed that started this mive tragedy in the first place! Blaming UAW wages and benefits for the industries problems is absurd. Many workers of the largest retail chain in America qualify for "Medical Benefits" from the state in which they reside as their wages meet the guidelines that list them below the poverty line! Those with better paying union jobs pay for those benefits in taxation! Making $40 dollars an hour today, is the same as making $8.00 an hour in 1972 according to the experts on the American dollars value, then and now! What is the difference? In 1972, America had millionaires, now they are billionaires! Wealth is all aculating at the top and although more people are working, the have-nots are on the rise and the haves are becoming fewer and fewer. The American middle cl is gone! For those who believe the wealthiest Americans pay more their fair share, only need to live a life where you choose between eating or being able to have the medications needed to sustaining life! Many of America's elderly make that decision on a daily basis, a battle many lose and the cost is a shortened life! What is the price of ones life worth? Paying with ones life is paying the max! What say you?
