Protestants, are you willing to accept that Catholicism also is Christian?

The folks I know who are Protestant are split on the topic. I know several people who adamantly insist that Catholics are not Christian and never will be because they have so many Pagan elements in their worship services and pray to Mary, etc, and there is nothing that will change their minds on the subject. At the same time, I know several people who do consider them to be Christian.
