How do I get my Dad's half of the family to stop looking at me like a loser.?

My father tells his family everything that happens with me and all of the BIG and little drama that occurs in my life. most dads would censor the bad things that happen, for instance i recently lost a job and before The week was over he had already blabbed it. My cousins think I'm a joke and my aunts and uncles pity my. I've asked my dad several times to keep his mouth shut when life deals me a blow, but he just won't do it when if comes to his side of the family. When I retaliate about how poorly my cousins treat me he actually gets upset because I'm talking about them. WTF? How do I deal with this now that talking to him has not worked. Does this guy like me at all? I mean he's my dad.
