Can anyone recommend a decent real ale?

The person who said Newcastle Brown doesn't know what they are talking about, it is one of the most chemical of beers(although it does go down well) and I am a Geordie! We have some really good real ales up here now, so look out for Prince Bishop, Workie Ticket etc, for me, Timothy Taylor's Landlord is the consistent one, even Madonna drinks it(is that a recommendation?) and by the way, it's bombardier,which is also very nice.
